Due to new developments in dental regeneration, it is now possible to grow gum tissues and bone back around teeth which previously were thought hopeless. Even in bad cases it is often possible to extend the life of teeth by 5-7 years.

The procedure itself involves a local anaesthetic and is a one visit procedure. The cost varies depending on how much regenerative material is used. The lost bone is replaced with synthetic, naturally derived, or combination of bone grafting materials. They act as a “scaffold” for the patient’s own bone to “regenerate” and are usually reabsorbed by the body.

 
The regenerative technique uses bioactive gels, such as Emdogain, which stimulate the body's own cells to form new tissues. All these periodontal treatments are carried out by our oral/maxillofacial surgeon.
