The main road to Dun Laoghaire was partially blocked for nearly an hour on a beautiful sunny day as Seapoint Clinic`s state of the art CT scanner was lifted into the clinic by a 3 Tonne crane. Passers by were treated to the sight of one of the countries first dental CT scanners arriving.

According to Dr O`Flaherty the CT scanner will allow much safer, faster and cost effective Dental implant treatments for Irish patients. Up until now getting a CT scan for dental treatments meant a visit to a main hospital followed by a waiting list and an expensive bill. Now with the specialised dental scanner the scan can be completed at the same time as the main dental appointment. This means reduced cost, saving of time and money for the patient and perhaps best of all a huge reduction in radiation compared to a hopsital scanner.

Many dentists are now referring their own patients to Seapoint to save them money and radiation too. It is used by general dentists, implant dentists and endodontists and makes a huge difference in treatment quality.
