Dental Implants
What Are Dental Implants?
Many people lose a tooth — or several — due to injury, sports accidents, or gum disease. If it’s just one or two teeth, it’s easy to assume dentures are your only option. Dental implants offer another route, whether you’re missing a single tooth or wearing a full denture.
The process itself is straightforward in principle: a small titanium screw is placed into the jawbone where the tooth used to be. Over a few months, the bone fuses naturally around the implant. Once healed, a crown is fitted on top — designed to look and function like your own tooth, supporting the everyday pressure of chewing and speaking.
Who Are Implants For?
It’s easy to “make do” with a missing tooth, especially if it’s just one. But most people don’t realise how much they’ve quietly adjusted — the way they chew, speak, or even smile — to work around the gap.
Implants are also a strong option for denture wearers. Traditional dentures rely on suction to stay in place, which can loosen with certain foods or during conversation. At Seapoint, our Click-Tite Dentures anchor the denture to a small rod placed in the jawbone, giving it a much more secure hold than suction alone.
Why Consider Implants?
For many people, the condition of their teeth affects day-to-day confidence — whether that’s a gap, a loose denture, or the effects of gum disease over time. Implants are now a well-established option for people dealing with tooth loss, advanced gum disease, or an unstable denture, offering a more secure bite as part of your overall treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does getting an implant hurt?
Most patients report the procedure itself is no more uncomfortable than a routine extraction, thanks to local anaesthetic. Some soreness during healing is normal and manageable with standard pain relief.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary by case — healing time for the bone to fuse with the implant typically takes a few months before the final crown is fitted. Your dentist can give you a personalised timeline at consultation.
How much do dental implants cost?
Costs depend on your individual case and how many teeth are involved. You can see our current guide pricing on our Fees page, with an exact plan provided after assessment.
Am I a candidate for implants?
Most adults in good general health and with adequate jawbone density are candidates. Some cases may need bone augmentation first — we can assess this during your consultation.
What’s the difference between implants and Click-Tite Dentures?
A full implant replaces a tooth root individually, while Click-Tite Dentures secure an existing denture more firmly using implant anchors — a good option if you already wear dentures and want a more stable fit.
