Living with Missing Teeth:
The Hidden Challenges

Missing teeth or failing oral health can significantly impact your daily life, often in ways you might not expect. At Seapoint Clinic, we understand the challenges you face—and we want you to know you are not alone. Many of our patients have shared similar experiences, and we’re here to help.

Health Concerns

Living with missing teeth can make eating a challenge, limiting your food choices and potentially leading to digestive issues and nutritional deficiencies. Without the stimulation from tooth roots, your jawbone may deteriorate over time, leading to premature ageing, changes to the shape of your face, and potentially causing the remaining teeth to shift.

Confidence and Social Impact

We know how a gap in your smile can make you feel self-conscious, affecting your social interactions and even your professional life. You might find yourself holding back from smiling or speaking freely, impacting your relationships and self-esteem.

Daily Discomfort

Simple tasks like eating your favourite foods or speaking clearly can become daily struggles. The discomfort isn’t just physical – it’s emotional, too.

Why Choose Dental Implants

What is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are man-made roots that are gently placed where your tooth used to be. There is usually no better way to replace a failed tooth.

This new root can secure anything from a single new tooth to a full row or arch of teeth and can even support lifelike dentures.

Used successfully for over 40 years, today’s implants are the closest thing to a natural smile that you’ll find.

  • Biocompatible

Made from titanium, a material that integrates naturally with your bone.

  • Permanent Solution

Designed to last a lifetime with proper home-care and hygiene visits.

  • Root Replacement

Acts as an artificial tooth root, preserving jaw bone structure.

Types of Dental Implant

At Seapoint Clinic, we offer a range of dental implant solutions to suit your needs.

Single Implants

Ideal for replacing one missing tooth, a single-tooth implant consists of a titanium post topped with a custom-made crown. This solution seamlessly blends with your natural teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics without affecting neighbouring teeth.

Fixed Teeth

Full Mouth dental implants can be made to look very natural just like your own teeth. Using strategically placed implants, we can support an entire arch of new teeth, giving you a complete, natural-looking smile and full chewing function.

Teeth in a Day

Major advances in dental implant technology means we can provide fully fixed teeth in a day with just a single visit. This innovative technique allows us to place implants and attach a temporary set of fixed teeth in a single appointment, dramatically reducing treatment time.

Click-tite™ Dentures

Our exclusive Click-tite™ system combines the benefits of dental implants with removable dentures. These implant-supported dentures snap securely onto implants, providing stability and comfort far beyond traditional dentures while still being easy to remove for cleaning.

Dentures

Dentures do not usually change shape themselves much over time. There can be some wear to the biting surface from chewing but usually nothing more. The problem with dentures is the gum underneath them and the supporting bone are lost over time.

Implant Supported Bridge

This option is usually the best available, as it is the closest you can get to your own teeth. They are very strong and life-like. Unlike a denture, the new teeth will only sit on the implants and so there are no denture sore spots.

Our In-house Dental
Implant Lab and Tech

Our state-of-the-art technology allows for a quicker and more successful recovery, this means less waiting and discomfort for you. If there is an emergency we can get it fixed immediately, allowing you to hop on the road to recovery far sooner.

Your Dental Implant FAQs

How long does dental implant treatment take?

+

Treatment times vary depending on the type of implant. Single implants typically take 3-6 months from placement to final restoration. Teeth in a Day provides immediate results, while full-arch treatments may take 4-6 months to complete. During your consultation, we’ll provide a detailed timeline for your specific case.

Is the dental implant procedure painful?

+

No. Treatment is performed under local anaesthetic, and sedation is available for nervous patients. Most patients report minimal discomfort during recovery, easily managed with standard pain medication.

How long do dental implants last?

+

No. Actually the Six Month Braces Technique is a low force technique. Many people think we just “tighten” the braces more to get the teeth moving. This would actually slow down tooth movement.

How long do dental implants last?

+

With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can last a lifetime. The success rate is over 90% after 10 years.

What’s the cost of dental implants?

+

Costs vary depending on the type of implant treatment needed. We offer flexible payment plans, and dental implants are eligible for 20% tax relief. Some health insurance plans may provide partial coverage.

Can I get implants if I’ve been told I don’t have enough bone?

+

There are several different types of implants designed for different types of situations. However, for an implant procedure to work there must be enough bone in the jaw and the bone must be strong enough to both hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone we can stimulate and grow the bone in a procedure called bone regeneration. Mini dental implants are also useful with minimal remaining bone and are placed with local anaesthetic in just one hour.

Are there age restrictions for dental implants?

+

There is no age limit to getting an implant procedure. We welcome patients from the ages of 18-90+ getting dental implants regularly, after accidents, tooth extractions or following general tooth loss. If you would like to be able to chew comfortably, smile with confidence and prevent bone loss, implant dentistry is the solution for you.

How do I care for dental implants?

+

Implants require similar care to natural teeth: regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. We provide detailed aftercare instructions and ongoing support.

What’s the difference between Click-tite™ dentures and regular implant-supported dentures?

+

Click-tite™ is our exclusive system offering superior stability and comfort. The dentures securely snap onto implants but can be easily removed for cleaning.

Can I get teeth the same day as my implants?

+

In many cases, yes. Our Teeth in a Day service provides temporary fixed teeth immediately after implant placement. Suitability depends on your specific case.

What’s the success rate of dental implants?

+

Our implant success rate exceeds 95% in the years after placement. Long term survival rates of 90% + are expected. Our combination of experienced surgeons, advanced technology, and in-house laboratory contributes to these excellent outcomes.

How do I maintain my implants long-term?

+

Regular dental check-ups, professional cleanings, and good home care are essential. We provide ongoing support and maintenance programs to ensure your implants last.
