Considering dental implants in Northern Ireland?

Considering dental implants in Northern Ireland?

Is Going Up North Really Saving You Money?

Dental Implants in the Republic of Ireland are becoming less expensive as days go by so there is no longer the need to travel up North or even abroad! We often hear people say how it’s cheaper to travel abroad or to travel to the North for cheaper dental treatments (often referred to as ‘dental tourism), but is this always the case? When you take into account travel time, time off work, potential hidden charges and even flights in some cases- it is often less expensive to stay in Ireland nowadays!

One of the main issues with dental tourism is that people are so anxious to get what appears to be a bargain that they’re not carrying out thorough checks on the clinic beforehand. We’ve found patients suffering from pain as a result of being rushed through treatments. All too often we hear nightmare stories and people end up with teeth that don’t look the way they want because of procedures being rushed to fit into a holiday schedule or a short time window.

What are dental implants?

Its true a lot of people are talking about dental implants as the solution for people who need to replace a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth. Dental implants are man-made roots that are gently placed where your tooth used to be. There is usually no better way to replace a failed tooth. This new root can be used as an anchor for a new tooth/teeth or to support a denture. That can mean getting rid of your loose uncomfortable denture forever or closing an unsightly gap. They have been used successfully for over 40 years and today’s implants are the closest thing to a real tooth that you’ll find.

Are Dental Implants Suitable For Me?

The good news is that dental implants can be suitable for everyone! Some people find this hard to believe, but modern dentistry has solutions for everybody. Even if you have been told that you were unsuitable in the past.

There are several different types of implants designed for different types of situations. However, for an implant procedure to work there must be enough bone in the jaw and the bone must be strong enough to both hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone we can stimulate and grow the bone in a procedure called bone regeneration. Mini dental implants are also useful with minimal remaining bone and are placed with local anesthetic in just one hour.

There is no age limit to getting an implant procedure. We welcome patients from the ages of 18-90+ getting dental implants regularly, after accidents, tooth extractions or following general tooth loss. If you would like to be able to chew comfortably, smile with confidence and prevent bone loss, implant dentistry is the solution for you.

What’s Included In The Cost Of The Implant?

Many clinics overseas offer tempting, yet misleading, pricing in an attempt to lure Irish and UK customers to their clinics. At Seapoint Clinic, our prices include all parts of the implant – including the implant fixture, abutment and crown. Some prices don’t even include the placing of the implant, meaning they are merely quoting for handing you the implant as it is in its wrapper. Such disregard for patient well being is completely against our ethos of clear and concise upfront pricing. Our hope is by doing so, we can develop a long term and more importantly trusting relationship with our client.
