Gummy Smiles

Gummy Smiles

Did you know that gummy smiles are twice as common in women versus men? It is estimated that 14% of women and 7% of men suffer from this issue.

A "gummy smile" is usually one where too much gum shows when you smile instead of teeth. Many people dislike their smile and try to learn to smile while showing less gum with great difficulty.

Traditionally getting it treated has proven difficult. Often it involved cutting the jawbone, gums or teeth.

Then an easier, faster and less invasive solution came along. People using anti-wrinkle injections noticed that the same injections that freezes facial muscles could be used to reduce a gummy smile.

With a few quick injections the problem could be solved for a minimum of three months!

If you would like to improve your gummy smile and are looking for a non-invasive method, book a consultation for facial aesthetics with one of our dentists or contact us on 01 284 2570.
