Whitening: Your Questions Answered

Whitening: Your Questions Answered

Does Teeth Whitening Hurt?

Our acclaimed Teeth Whitening treatment is performed on people who have sensitive teeth. In some cases, a patient may experience some heightened sensitivity following whitening. However, this usually only tends to occur at the end of your whitening treatment session and will decrease shortly after. We do recommend using Sensodyne toothpaste on your teeth in order to alleviate any discomfort.

How Long Will Results Last?

Habits such as smoking, drinking red wine and eating staining foods such as curries can all impact the whiteness of your teeth. The fewer of these you consume, the longer the effects will last. On average, results tend to last 1-3 years and we do recommend purchasing home whitening trays in order to maintain your brightness, alongside regular hygiene appointments.

How Dramatic Will Results Be?

There is a limit to just how bright your teeth will go. Here at Seapoint Clinic, our Deep Teeth Whitening is custom made to get your teeth as bright as naturally possible, without the needing porcelain or instant veneers. You can expect your teeth to lighten from 8 to 10 shades.

One of the most easy things we can do to help you is to whiten your teeth. If you’ve got staining on your teeth from red wine, tea, coffee, anything like that at all, come for one session of Seapoint Deep Teeth Whitening and we can bring your teeth up to 8 shades whiter in just a single visit.

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

The light-activated teeth whitening gel’s active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide. As the Hydrogen Peroxide gel is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching coloured substances while the structure of the teeth is unchanged. The Teeth Whitening light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the teeth.

How Long Will Treatment Take?

On average, our Deep Teeth Whitening treatment takes just over 90 minutes to complete, with an extra 30 minutes required in order to include our home whitening trays.

What Is Tray Whitening?

Tray whitening is an inexpensive to whiten your teeth. When combined with our Deep Teeth Whitening, you can achieve long-lasting results as well as whiten your teeth at a time that suits you! Tray whitening isn't available in stores, as we custom make it to fit your teeth and specific requirements.
