Teen Braces at Seapoint Clinic

Teen Braces at Seapoint Clinic

For most of us, the most common time to undergo orthodontic treatment is during our teenage years, most notably between the ages of 11-16. The reason behind this is that most people already have our permanent teeth at this stage, making it easier to detect possible future issues such as bad bites, possible gaps and crooked teeth.

Another reason to have teen braces at this stage of our lives is that our bodies grow at a rapid pace, enabling your orthodontist to take advantage of these growth spurts and improve your bite. As our bodies produce an increased amount of metabolism at this age, treatment time actually decreases, as well as decreasing the sensation of discomfort. Here at the Seapoint Clinic, we have a wide and varied range of orthondontic treatments to suit any smile at any age, including traditional, see-through and Invisalign braces.

We understand that teenage years are an expensive time for the vast majority of parents out there, which is we we're more than happy to offer a 10% discount for your second child in treatment and an incredible 15% discount for your third child.

But just what does each treatment entail and how can you decide if teen braces are the right choice for your child...

They have a great orthodontist here. His manner with children is absolutely fantastic. It was an absolute no brainer.

Traditional Braces

Traditional (otherwise known as fixed braces) are by far the most common type of orthodontic braces. More commonly referred to as 'train tracks', these braces allow us to fine-tune the position of your teeth and thanks to improvements in modern dentistry, the designs are far sleeker and smaller than compared to those of the past. Fixed braces allow for a great new smile within a shorter period of time, with many choosing clear ceramic brackets for a more natural look

Invisalign

Invisalign is becoming increasingly popular among patients of all ages in Ireland, due to their discreet appearance. Using a series of clear aligners, they are made to sit comfortably in your mouth allowing you to eat, chat and brush as normal throughout the entirety of your treatment. It takes roughly a year to complete, but the treatment can go faster where fewer movements are required. But it's not just teenagers opting for Invisalign, as they are the ideal treatment for people who may have worn braces as a child but suffered from an orthodontic relapse in the years since. One of the many benefits of Invisalign treatment is that we can re-position your teeth with hardly anyone even realising you're having treatment, they're that discreet.

Worried that Invisalign may not be for you, in that case we recommend 6 Month Braces, which are equally as popular as Invisalign and focus solely on the front teeth.
